Copper Futures Rise Most in a Week in New York on Strike by Mexico Workers

(Bloomberg) -- Copper futures in New York jumped
the most in more than a week after Southern Copper Corp. workers
went on strike at three mines in Mexico.

Employees began a work stoppage at Cananea, Mexico's
largest copper mine, and the Taxco and San Martin zinc mines, a
union spokeswoman said yesterday. Copper has gained 10 percent
since May 30 as labor unrest hampered production in Latin
American countries.

Chevron-Led Caspian Pipeline Group Faces $290 Million Russian Tax Claim

(Bloomberg) -- The Chevron Corp.-led Caspian
Pipeline Consortium received a $290 million back-tax claim from
Russian authorities for 2004 and 2005.

The venture is challenging the claim alongside similar
back-tax claims for previous years in the Moscow City Court,
Olesia Kuznetsova, a spokeswoman for the Caspian Pipeline
Consortium, said by phone in Moscow today. The claim was levied
by Russia's Federal Tax Service, she said.

UPDATE 1-U.S. money market fund assets set record

(Reuters) - "Assets of U.S. money-market funds kept rising ever-higher
during the week ended July 10," said the report published by
iMoneyNet Inc.




Taxable assets jumped $10.4 billion to a record $2.1
trillion, while tax-free assets rose $10.2 billion to a record
$414 billion.
