Emerging mkts flooded by local-currency global bonds

(Reuters) - A large chunk of the new issuance is denominated in the
Brazilian real , which has gained more than 14 percent so
far this year. But sovereign bonds are also being offered in
other strengthening local currencies, such as the Colombian
peso , the Peruvian sol and even the stable
Egyptian pound .




Despite being denominated in local currencies, those bonds
are more accessible to international investors because most are
settled in international markets and payable in dollars.

UPDATE 1-Chile retailers agree to $138 mln Peru joint venture

(Reuters) - In statements to the Chilean stock exchange, they said
Malls Peru, a unit of Falabella, and Padebest Peru, a unit of
Ripley, would each have a 40 percent stake in the tie-up.




The remaining 20 percent would be held by a subsidiary of
another Chilean retailer, Plaza Oeste, owned by Mall Plaza.

Copper Futures Post Second Weekly Gain Amid Labor Unrest, Tight Supplies

(Bloomberg) -- Copper, little changed in New York,
capped a second straight weekly gain as labor unrest raised
concern production may be cut during a time of tight supplies.

Workers have started or threatened strikes in Chile, the
world's largest copper producer, Peru and Mexico. Inventories of
the metal in London have dropped 42 percent this year as
suppliers failed to meet rising demand from China, the world's
biggest consumer of the metal. The price of copper has gained 6.2
percent in the last two weeks amid the labor disputes.

Indonesia's Listrik Raises 3 Trillion Rupiah in Nation's Biggest Bond Sale

(Bloomberg) -- PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara,
Indonesia's state-owned power utility, sold 3 trillion rupiah
($332 million) of bonds and Islamic debt in the Southeast Asian
nation's biggest corporate debt sale.

The company sold 1.5 trillion rupiah of 10-year bonds
yielding 10.4 percent, and 1.2 trillion rupiah of 15-year bonds
yielding 10.9 percent, Orias Petrus Moedak, managing director of
PT Danareksa Sekuritas, which helped organize the sale, said in
a mobile-phone text message. The Jakarta-based utility company
also sold 300 billion rupiah of 10-year Islamic bonds.
