Latin American Stocks Rally; Mexico, Brazil Shares Have Best Gain in Month

(Bloomberg) -- Stocks in Latin America rallied as
analysts advised investors to buy companies with better-than-
expected profit growth after last week's global sell-off.

Brazil's Bovespa Index jumped 1,455.21, or 2.8 percent, to
54,377.44 as of 3 p.m. in New York. Mexico's Bolsa index rallied
747.88, or 2.5 percent, to 30,983.05. It was the biggest gain in
both markets since March 21.

Bovespa Slides in Brazil, Led by Petrobras; Wal-Mart de Mexico Declines

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index fell for the
first time in three days, led by Petroleo Brasileiro SA, after the
federal police arrested employees on allegations they manipulated
contracts at the state-controlled oil company.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange shed 561.03, or 1 percent, to 55,882.70, falling from a
July 6 record. Mexico's Bolsa index slid 345.23, or 1.1 percent, to
31,743.02.

Mexico's Bolsa Falls, Led by Walmex, as Earnings Slow; Usiminas, CSN Slip

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico's Bolsa index fell for a second
day after Wal-Mart de Mexico SA, the biggest retailer in Latin
America, reported lower-than-expected earnings.

The Bolsa index slid 212.10, or 0.7 percent, to 31,876.15 as
of 12:20 p.m. New York time. Brazil's main stock index fell for the
first time in three days.

Mexico's Bolsa Falls on Telephone Antitrust Probe: Peruvian Miners Advance

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico's main stock index fell,
retreating from a record, after regulators vowed to step up efforts
to curb the dominance of phone companies in the country.

Mexico's Bolsa index dropped 323.59, or 1 percent, to
32088.25, led by America Movil SAB. America Movil, Latin America's
largest mobile phone company, fell 1.17 pesos, or 3.3 percent, the
most since April 30, to 34.40 pesos. Telefonos de Mexico SAB, the
country's largest fixed-line company, fell 5.3 percent, the most
since December, 2000.

Mexico's Bolsa Gains on Outlook for Tax Legislation: Latin American Stocks

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico's Bolsa index rose for a sixth
day as prospects improved for the passage of a tax measure that
could spur government spending on infrastructure and energy.

The benchmark Bolsa index advanced 62.16, or 0.2 percent, to
32,179.99 as of 12:19 p.m. in New York, led by Grupo Elektra SA,
Mexico's biggest electronics retailer.

Mexico's Bolsa Gains on Debt Rating Outlook, Led by America Movil and ICA

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico's Bolsa index rose for a fifth
day as investors bet the country's credit rating will lbe raised by
Standard & Poor's, reducing government borrowing costs and fueling
spending.

The benchmark Bolsa index advanced 234.41, or 0.8 percent, to
31,655.10 as of 10:56 a.m. in New York, led by America Movil SAB,
Latin America's biggest mobile-phone company.

America Movil, Cemex, Grupo Mexico, IXE and Invex: Mexican Equity Movers

(Bloomberg) -- Mexico's main stock index rose for a
fourth day, led by shares of America Movil SAB, Latin America's
largest mobile-phone company.

The Bolsa index gained 132.13, or 0.4 percent, to 32,261.10 at
10:15 a.m. New York time, after setting a record June 15.
