U.K. Stocks Gain, Paced by Anglo American, Xstrata; Greene King Rallies

(Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks gained, paced by Anglo
American Plc and Xstrata Plc as base metals rallied in London.

United Utilities Plc climbed on speculation Britain's
largest publicly traded water company may be bought. British
Airways Plc advanced after the airline won approval to fly from
U.S. cities to Europe. Rolls & Royce Group Plc rose after the
engine maker said its customer base grew ``significantly.''

Copper Falls in Asia as Gains on Chile Strikes Seen Overdone; Zinc Lower

(Bloomberg) -- Copper prices fell in Asia amid
speculation that gains on labor unrest at mines in Chile, the
world's largest source of the metal, may have been overdone.

At Dona Ines de Collahuasi, Chile's third-largest copper
mine, owners Xstrata Plc and Anglo American Plc exercised a right
to extend labor talks. The decision by management at the mine in
northern Chile delays the start of a possible strike to July 9
from July 3, union President Hernan Farias said June 29.

Xstrata Starts Study of Wandoan Thermal Coal Mine in Northern Australia

(Bloomberg) -- Xstrata Plc, a miner of coal and
metals, started investigations into the feasibility of
developing an open-cut thermal coal mine at Wandoan in
Australia's Queensland state.

The proposed mine may have initial production of more than
20 million metric tons a year and an expected life of 30 years,
Zug, Switzerland-based Xstrata said today in an e-mail statement.

U.K.'s FTSE 100 Index Rebounds, Paced by Man, BA; Xstrata, Vedanta Climb

(Bloomberg) -- U.K. stocks rose for the first time
in three days, led by British Airways Plc after Standard & Poor's
lifted its credit rating for the airline. Lloyds TSB Group Plc
advanced on speculation the bank may be a takeover target.

Man Group Plc climbed after posting an increase in assets
for its AHL fund. Xstrata Plc and Vedanta Resources Plc led
mining companies higher as base metal prices rallied. DSG
International Plc paced declining shares after the electronics
retailer said charges almost eliminated full-year profit.
