U.S. Stock-Index Futures Are Little Changed; Google Falls, SanDisk Gains

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were little
changed before Citigroup Inc., the world's biggest financial-
services firm, and Caterpillar Inc., the world's largest maker of
earthmoving equipment, report quarterly earnings.

Citigroup and Caterpillar shares declined in Europe. Google
Inc. tumbled after rising costs at the world's most-popular
Internet-search engine caused second-quarter profit to miss
analysts' estimates. Schlumberger Ltd., the world's largest
oilfield-services provider, advanced after its earnings beat
analysts' estimates.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise on Earnings; IBM, Bank of America Advance

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures gained
after Bank of America Corp. and International Business Machines
Corp. reported earnings that topped analysts' forecasts.

Bank of America, the second-largest U.S. bank, rose after
posting 5.2 percent profit growth. IBM, the world's biggest
provider of computer services, climbed after saying software
acquisitions boosted results.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Are Little Changed; Schwab Falls, Motorola Gains

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were
little changed before companies including Charles Schwab Corp.,
the biggest discount brokerage, report earnings today.

Schwab fell in Germany, while toymaker Mattel shares
didn't trade in Europe after the company posted earnings that
met analysts' estimates. Motorola Inc. gained after Deutsche
Bank AG recommended buying shares of the world's No. 2 maker of
mobile phones. Ford Motor Co. also climbed. Newspapers
including the Sunday Times reported that the second-biggest
U.S. automaker may sell its profitable Volvo Car Corp.
business.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Gain After Inflation Measure Matches Forecasts

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures advanced
after a government report showed a measure of inflation matched
forecasts last month, giving the Federal Reserve leeway to cut
rates should the economy slow.

Research In Motion Ltd. rallied after the maker of the
BlackBerry e-mail phone reported first-quarter earnings that
topped analysts' estimates. Apple Inc. climbed on the day its
iPhone goes on sale in the U.S.

U.S. Stock Index Futures Drop; Energy Producers, Bear Stearns Shares Fall

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell after
energy producers retreated as the price of oil dropped to a
nine-day low.

ConocoPhillips, the third-largest U.S. oil company, slid
after it said it will record a charge of $4.5 billion to write
off its Venezuela projects. Bear Stearns Cos. declined after
the investment bank assigned its top mortgage trader to manage
the bailout of a hedge fund, underscoring the risk of losses.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise; Oracle and Nike Shares Advance in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures rose on
speculation earnings will keep growing after Oracle Corp.
forecast higher sales than analysts estimated and Nike Inc. said
orders increased the most in a decade.

Oracle gained in Europe. The world's third-largest software
maker said sales may rise as much as 21 percent in the fiscal
first quarter. Nike, the world's biggest athletic-shoe maker,
also advanced. ConocoPhillips slid after the No. 3 U.S. oil
company said it will record a charge of $4.5 billion.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Drop; Bear Stearns, Citigroup Decline in Europe

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell on
concern hedge-fund losses at Bear Stearns Cos. may worsen the
fallout from the subprime lending market.

Shares of Bear Stearns, the second-biggest U.S. underwriter
of mortgage bonds, dropped in Europe. The company plans to take
on $3.2 billion of loans to stave off a crisis involving one of
its money-losing hedge funds, people with knowledge of the
proposal said.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall on Rising Yields, Oil; Home Depot Declines

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell after
bond yields climbed for a second day and the price of crude oil
approached $70 a barrel.

Home Depot Inc., the world's largest home-improvement
chain, and Nokia Oyj, the biggest maker of mobile phones,
dropped after analysts cut their recommendations on the shares.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Rise; Home Depot, Morgan Stanley Shares Advance

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures advanced
after Treasury yields held near a two-week low and Morgan
Stanley said second-quarter profit rose to a record.

Morgan Stanley, the No. 2 securities firm, climbed after
earnings increased 40 percent, beating estimates. Home Depot
Inc. increased after the world's largest home-improvement
retailer agreed to sell its contractor-supplies unit for $10.3
billion and announced a share buyback.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall on Housing Data; Best Buy, Lennar Retreat

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell after
housing starts dropped in May, stoking concern the real-estate
slump will continue to weigh on economic growth.

Lennar Corp., the largest U.S. homebuilder, declined. Best
Buy Co., the biggest consumer electronics chain, slid after
reporting earnings that trailed analyst estimates.

U.S. Stock-Index Futures Are Little Changed Before Report; Goldman Drop

(Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures were little
changed before a government report on producer prices that may
show the pace of inflation is picking up.

Goldman Sachs Group Inc. shares declined in Europe before
the world's biggest security firm reports second-quarter
earnings. Bear Stearns Cos., the second-largest U.S. underwriter
of mortgage bonds, may move before it posts results. Separately,
the company is liquidating holdings from one of its hedge funds
after making money-losing bets on subprime home loans, according
to three people with knowledge of the decision.
