Coffeyville Refinery May Resume Operations in Mid-September After Shutdown

(Bloomberg) -- Coffeyville Resources LLC, a Kansas
refinery owned by a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. unit and the buyout
firm Kelso & Co., expects to resume gasoline and diesel
production by mid-September after a July 1 flood shut the plant.

Major damage was confined to pumps, motors and electrical
controls, the Sugar Land, Texas-based company said today in a
statement. Production of nitrogen fertilizer has resumed at the
complex, with shipments planned today.

Sugar Rises as Brazilian Ethanol Production Reduces Output of Sweetener

(Bloomberg) -- Sugar in New York rose to a 12-week
high as mills in Brazil, the world's biggest producer, use more
sugar cane to make ethanol instead of the sweetener.

The center-south region of Brazil produced 5.4 million
metric tons of sugar this year as of June 15, down from 6 million
tons at the same point last year, the London-based International
Sugar Organization said today in an e-mailed report. Ethanol
output jumped 10 percent to 4.2 billion liters, the group said.

Indian Sugar Exports May Double in 2008 Amid Global Surplus, Minister Says

(Bloomberg) -- Sugar exports from India, the world's
second-largest producer, may double in 2008 because of a
domestic surplus, adding further pressure to prices that have
plunged 44 percent in the past year.

The country may export as much as 3 million tons next year,
Akhilesh Prasad Singh, India's minister of state for agriculture,
consumer affairs, food and public distribution said today.
Exports may be 1.5 million tons this year, he told reporters at
the 9th World Beet and Cane Growers Conference in Brisbane.

Sugar Falls in New York on Speculation India May Export More Raw Supplies

(Bloomberg) -- Sugar in New York fell on speculation
India, the world's second-biggest producer, may boost exports of
the sweetener.

India's sugar output will rise to 30.4 million metric tons
this year from 20.9 million last year, Ratzeburg, Germany-based
F.O. Licht said in a report this week. India plans to export at
least 500,000 tons of raw sugar between December and March,
Jayanthilal B. Patel, chairman of industry-funded trading firm
Indian Sugar Exim Corp., said last month.

Sugar Rises to One-Week High on Speculation Ukraine Drought to Cut Supply

(Bloomberg) -- Sugar rose to a one-week high on
speculation that dry weather in Ukraine will curb the country's
sugar-beet production.

Ukraine has lost 780,000 hectares (1.9 million acres) of
planted grain area to a three-month drought. Ukraine, the
world's biggest exporter of barley, said June 21 the drought
will result in the smallest grain harvest in four years.
