(Reuters) - Stock futures trimmed earlier losses after Merrill Lynch, the world's largest brokerage, reported earnings and revenue that beat Wall Street estimates. Merrill's shares rose more than 2 percent before the opening bell.
The Labor Department's producer prices index for June is expected to show a 0.2 percent pickup in overall prices. Excluding food and energy, producer prices are also forecast to have risen 0.2 percent. The PPI data is scheduled for release at 8:30 a.m. .
